Not I, Said the Duck
Flight of the Bobby McFerrin

Well, I've said it before and I'll say it again... uh, on second thought, once was enough.

Anyway. I'm coming home to visit next weekend. I have to work this weekend (which sucks) but then I start training in CCU (which may kill me). So, by next weekend I am definitely going to need a break. Technically I had a break last week when Melissa and I went on our little horseback riding adventure to that horrifying nether region along the Massachusetts-New Hampshire border which is populated almost entirely by people with mullets. We stayed at a nice hotel, though, and had dinner one night in Newburyport which is freakishly reminiscent of Camden, ME. The highlight of dinner, however, was walking into a fancy seafood restaurant wearing tight jeans, riding boots and my hot pink "Wear the Wild Thing Are" t-shirt and ordering a beer. After dinner we went to Leo's Super Bowl and made ourselves look like idiots trying to bowl candlepins. The scary part about that place, though, was that, it was a Sunday night and there were maybe three other small groups of people bowling there but at exactly nine o'clock, we looked up and everyone was gone. The place completely cleared out leaving Melissa and I by ourselves with the bowling alley manager. It was bizarre. So we played another game. Then we went back to the hotel and watched Spanglish... a very nice movie.

Oh, and we did a little horseback riding too here and there. Which was fun... if frighteningly awkward and disorienting at times.

The point is, while that weekend was a whole lot of fun, it wasn't exactly restful. So next weekend, I'll be coming home to put my feet up. And Melissa is tagging along. :) See you then!

"I had a bad dream last night, too... about a hard-boiled egg."

Sorry (Andrew!) that I haven't updated in awhile. I've had the flu which put a damper on my blogging mood and then I turned 23 which was kinda cool but not exactly inspiring. Thanks for the cards/gifts/well-wishes by the way to those of you that sent them. To those of you that didn't... I'll be exacting my revenge when you least expect it. Heh heh.

Anyway, nothing really exciting has happened lately... unless we start discussing Melissa's social life... but we won't. Melissa and I are actually taking off this weekend to go horseback riding in New Hampshire and do god knows what else. It will be loads of fun and hopefully it won't rain too much.

Work is starting to really pick up. I've been pulling more overtime lately which is nice for my paycheck but physically and mentally exhausting. It's only going to get worse too, but at least I'm getting good at this stuff. And Steve will be happy to know that I haven't killed anything yet.

So that's kinda where I'm at. Except for the occasional foray into the lesbian club scene, life is pretty mundane. Mundane but satisfying.
