Not I, Said the Duck
At least someone got laid.

I just watched the final episode of Stargate SG1. I... can't even really describe how I'm feeling. It's like a combination of relief and mourning. Relief that the show went out on a pretty good note while still mourning its end.

I don't really know what to do with myself now. I think I'll go harrass Eliz at work.

P.S. How come Selfnoise doesn't observe daylight savings?

I shall now be known as... Drake Tungsten!

I'm moving!!!! I am completely freaking out but I'm also very excited. The landloard picked me, so he says, because I am such a big animal lover. How cool is that??? I am totally getting a dog. Once I'm not poor again. Tomorrow I get to write a check for $2200. I may need a stiff drink afterward.

RIP Marty

Sometimes my job is really sad. I mean, genuinely, heart-breaking. Tonight for only the second time in my two years and three months at Angell, I cried over a patient.

It's been a rough three days. On the plus side, it's now March. In another month I start looking for a new place to live. :) I'm quite excited.

I was dead long before you were born, Conan.

So... for reasons that should be obvious to... everyone... I was deeply disturbed by this week's episode of The Office. I found the whole experience extremely traumatising.

I'll be in SoPo on Monday.

Ah, yes, my documentary.

I have a new bed. The delivery guys woke me up at 6:30 this morning. Therefore, my plan for the day is to stay in my new bed and watch Space Ghost Coast to Coast and Stargate all day. And maybe some episodes of The Office.

I may be poor now, but life is good. :)

Check the Elow Flap.

Had a nice night at work tonight. I accomplished very little and laughed a lot and nothing died.

I somehow managed to completely miss the city of Boston "shutting down" today... yesterday...even though one of these devices was reported on the BU bridge which I drive over every day on my way to work. Lucky me.

My only comment on this fiasco is that I kind of resent the criticisms from Aqua Teen Hunger Force fans that people of Boston need to get out more and get with the times because they didn't recognize the little character on the signs. Seriously. It's a cult show by definition. Someone was "shocked" that no one on the Boston PD watched the show. I don't actually find that shocking at all (even if it is true, which no one really knows). A lot of the Boston PD probably can't afford cable. I know I can't.

That doesn't mean the whole thing wasn't a little funny.

But this is what REALLY galls me.

If you go to Z'ha'dum you will die.

Needless to say, I've been watching Babylon 5 all day. Yummy. Of course now I'm going to have to buy the rest of the seasons. Even though season one had Michael O'Hare (edging out Bruce Boxleitner as the worst dramatic actor on television) and season two was just one obnoxious foreshadowing after another with the addition of Bruce Boxleitner at his most annoying, they both had their moments. And season 5... well, if only to see the finale. There was nothing more cathartic than watching Babylon 5 explode. I would suggest Stargate go out in a similar fashion but they've already blown up the gate at least twice. Too bad.

I killed a man, Sully.

My air conditioner in sitting on my desk. It's really large and heavy and I still can't fathom why a few nights ago after stumbling in from work at 12:30 at night, exhausted and doped up on cold medicine, I decided I needed to haul my A/C unit out of the window and leave it on my desk. Granted, I should have taken it out months ago but it's been so warm I never felt a real compelling need... until Friday night, go figure.

I gotta go do laundry.

And then the pass is picked off by Mickey Rooney and a parade of dancing penguins!

That game was absurd. I'm still not sure how much of it actually happened and how much I dreamed while I was floating in and out of my drug-induced stupor. I really need to get rid of this goddamned cold.

Smoking crack cures cancer.

Stupid people irritate me. But I tolerate them because they usually can't help it. However, when otherwise intelligent people do indescribably stupid things exhibiting a complete and utter lack of common sense I get the powerful urge to beat my head against the floor. And when they do this while at work I want to beat their heads against the floor. And on top of everthing else... I have an obnoxiously persistent head cold that has seriously diminished my tolerance for stupidity. I think I'll go curl up in bed and moan for awhile.

Some guy in a mullet just compared Frankie Goes to Hollywood to Duran Duran, Culture Club and The Beatles in the same sentence.

I just died a little.

Your mom's a gastric foreign body.

Do you ever wanna just... punch someone in the face? I never have until just recently. It's not a good feeling.

I am, however, looking forward to next week. I scored an extra day off so now I have Tuesday through Friday off, instead of Wednesday through Friday. I still probably won't head to SoPo until Wednesday. Tuesday will be my day for running errands and tying up loose ends. But I am *beyond* excited for Thanksgiving. I can't wait.

The return of Stone Cold.

Tonight:

Intern: Can I prescribe oral meds in CCU?

Me: As long as they aren't antibiotics.

Intern: They aren't. Just enalapril, denosyl and marin.

Me: What's marin?

Intern: I dunno.

Me: You're prescribing a medication and you don't know what it does?

Intern (laughing): No, I know what it is.

Me: What is it?

Intern: (pause) I'm gonna go talk to pharmacy.

This is why I love my job. It every now and then makes me feel very smart.

The many consequences of jaywalking.

I just got home from the Patriots game. It's true. It may have been a terrible game, but I was THERE. Fifteen rows up from the end zone. It was freakin amazing. Too bad they lost. Stupid Colts.

I'm going to sleep now. :)

It's nothing Dr. Quinn can't cure.

There are now in existence an inordinate number of photographs depicting me being a complete idiot, all from the past week or so. I need to stop.

And I will. I'm done. Tonight I went to my third Halloween party in a week and I have filled my partying quota for at least a year. You can all count me out for New Years, I'll be hiding under my bed with my cat.

I am glad, though, that in the midst of working long hours and being a drunken fool I was able to help Eliz and Andrew move to their new and very cute apartment. I actually had fun and it felt good to accomplish something practical.

Anyway, I think sleep is now in order. When I wake up my life will be free of angst, right? Good. I thought so.
